The United Nations Association of Orange County (UNA-OC)
cordially invites you to our UN Day Gala Celebration:
Human Rights, Close to Home - Dignity in the Shadows,
How is Housing a Human Right?
Please join us for a celebration of the United Nations,
the Sustainable Development Goals eliminating poverty
and hunger right here at home, and a discussion on sustainable housing, and human rights in our community.
As we commemorate the 73rd Anniversary of the United Nations to a three-course dinner, UNA-OC is pleased to present awards recognizing community partners who have displayed an outstanding record of improving conditions in our local community. In addition, we are honored to have Dr. Richard Matthew (BA McGill; Ph.D. Princeton) be our keynote speaker. Dr. Matthew is an esteemed Professor of International and Environmental Policies at the School of Social Ecology and Social Sciences at the University of Irvine, who also has a considerable amount of experience working with the United Nations in a variety of capacities.
Your participation demonstrates your commitment towards
a humanitarian cause that is paramount in the minds of the
U.S. citizens today.
Anyone with an interest or passion for global affairs and international diplomacy is invited to attend.
We will also have an update on the Adopt A Future Campaign that will close at the end of the year. Learn more about the "Adopt a Future" campaign by clicking here. Your support is much needed to meet its goal of raising $30,000 to build classrooms in refugee camps overseas that will be sustainable for more than a decade. We will provide you with information on how you can take part in this crucial campaign to help save a generation of children by giving them an education they desperately need to create change. Join us as we celebrate Human Rights, Close to Home, and the UN Global Goals!
